On Earth Day, April 22, our volunteers joined the team at Lyon Arboretum for a morning Volunteer Exchange in the heart of Mānoa Valley. Guided by ethnobotanist Sean, the group explored the Beatrice H. Krauss Hawaiian Ethnobotanical Garden – a living collection of native and canoe plants – and walked the lush trails of this nearly 200-acre botanical treasure.
“A morning stroll through the lush Lyon Arboretum was a perfect way to celebrate Earth Day with Sean as our expert guide.” — Debbie Ziemke, HMH Volunteer
Mahalo to Lyon Arboretum for the warm welcome, and to our volunteers for embodying the spirit of mālama ʻāina.
